The Republic Day is an national festival celebrated in India with happiness, which is celebrated every year on January 26 after independence and on this day India was declared a democratic, Republic country. On this day the Constitution was enacted in India due to which the Republic Day Every year celebrated on 26th January and a World's Top Leader is invited as the chief guest.
 Importance of Indian Republic Day

In this post, I am going to tell you the importance of Republic Day for Indian citizens and what is the history behind it.

India's history is very ancient. But in the context of Republic Day, if there is talk of celebrating this day, there is freedom taken from the British after 200 years of rule over India. But with our independence, there was a lot of problems in our country and the most important of them was that what type of system should be adopted & by following that system every person can get equal rights and can live with honor. So the Constitution was made.

The main reason for celebrating Republic Day is that on this day India became a democratic country and Constitution was applied. But the main constitution is considered behind the establishment of democracy in India and it is the result of the Constitution that every person who is residing in India has all the right to live a life equally.

History and Importance of Indian Republic Day

The main reason behind celebrating Republic Day is that there is a Constitution made in India after 2 years 18 months and 11 days and on this day the Indian constitution was applicable.
  1. On January 26, 1950, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India, took the oath of office in the government house.
  2. Every year somebody is invited as the Chief Guest on the occasion of Republic Day..
  3. Sukarno,The President of Indonesia,was the 1st chief guest of Indian Republic Day.
  4. On this day, in 1957, the National Bravery Award was started for children under the age of 16 years.
  5. India was declared Hindu State on January 26, 1965.
  6. India's first President Dr. Rajendra Prasad was declared a national holiday on January 26, 1950, and on January 26, every year there is a national holiday in India..
  7. On this day, the first President of India Dr. Rajendra Prasad hoisted the flag at the Irwin Stadium.
  8. Every year on the occasion of Republic Day, the Indian National Flag is hoisted by the President.
  9. On the occasion of Republic Day, the bravery prize is given by the President to the brave persons.
  10. The flag is hoisted by the President of the country on 21 January with the 21 Canon's salute
